Who We Are
Our Commitment to Self and Society is led by an Executive Committee of three members:

Rev. David Williams
Rev. David Williams is the Founder and Lead Pastor of the Abyssinian Christian Church in Fort Collins. As a leading figure in the local African-American community, he has been hearing for years from people of good will, who deplore what happens to people of color elsewhere in the country, but express thanks that “it doesn’t happen here.” Knowing that sometimes it does happen here, Dave decided to bring people together to make a commitment to themselves and local society, to join a long-term, community-wide project of transparency and accountability, to make Fort Collins a Choice City for all.

Nina Rubin
Nina Rubin is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, who had a private counseling practice in Fort Collins, and recently retired after more than 20 years as a medical social worker at Poudre Valley Hospital. Nina was a founder of Congregation Har Shalom, she is a former president of the Fort Collins Area Interfaith Council, and has served on multiple non-profit boards of directors. She has lived in Fort Collins for more than 40 years, watching it grow from a small town into the small city that it is today, and is committed to helping make it a Choice City for all who live and work here.

Rabbi Hillel Katzir
Rabbi Hillel Katzir has served synagogue communities in Iowa, Maine and Colorado, over the past 20 years. Before that he lived in Israel for nine years, and practiced law in California and New Mexico for fifteen years. He has taught Constitutional Law to CSU undergraduates, and teaches topics related to law, Judaism and intergroup relations at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at CSU. Retired as a rabbi, is a member of the local non-profit Diverse Fort Collins, a statewide interfaith clergy group Together Colorado, and he produces and hosts Faith in Progress, a weekly public affairs program on KRFC 88.9 FM in Fort Collins. All of his activities are dedicated to bringing people together across perceived lines of difference.
